Kambove Mining SAS (KMS), a second-tier subsidiary of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNMC), recently handed over a community activity center and donated sports supplies to local communities in Kambove town, Haut-Katanga Province, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

The community activity center project and donation of sports supplies are part of KMS's ongoing efforts to support local communities in improving cultural and sports infrastructure and promoting the development of youth sports, according to an executive of KMS.
A ceremony was held in Kambove town to mark the handover and donation, at which many local officials, including deputy town mayor Chadrack, district chief Henri, and community chairman Mumba, expressed their appreciation for KMS's long-standing support.
They said that the community activity center and sports supplies will provide local young athletes with better training conditions and inject new momentum into the development of sports in Kambove.
An executive of KMS shared the company's efforts and initiatives regarding corporate social responsibility (CSR) at the ceremony, noting that supporting youth development and contributing to cultural and sports development in local communities are key parts of the company's overseas CSR commitment.
Over the years, KMS has paid close attention to the needs of local youth and continued to invest in initiatives that promote sports and cultural development, according to the executive.
In the past two years, the company has renovated and upgraded the Mikuba basketball court and the CRK football field, and donated various sports supplies to local communities, winning widespread recognition from local residents, he said.
Following the ceremony, local taekwondo and boxing teams put on a performance wearing the newly donated sports gear from KMS, earning thunderous applause for well-coordinated movements and impressive skills.
